SHERATON SAND KEY LAUNCHES RE-DESIGNED WEB SITE
Offers Enhanced Functionality, Online Jazz and more
CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. -- (August 29, 2002) -- The Sheraton Sand Key Resort on Clearwater Beach
has launched their state-of-the-art Web site, www.sheratonsandkey.com. The new site design includes
virtual resort postcards, secure reservations for individuals and groups, a customized online jazz
radio station and a virtual press room with original high-resolution photographs and current news
releases.
"The site is designed to be as simple and as functional as possible and is optimized
for global users of various operating platforms," said Vice President of Creative Services Eric Polins
of Coniglio Polins (CPI) in Tampa, site designers. "With international visitors on an hourly basis,
the new Sheraton Sand Key Web site is much easier to navigate - everything is one click away."
The new database enhancements allow the resort to receive real-time information and requests from
guests enabling them to provide immediate top quality service. Additional site changes were made to
secure online reservations for private parties and groups.
A new unique feature to the site is the resort's jazz radio station. Music was composed specifically
for the resort's station - WSSK - by area jazz groups.
"The online radio station housed on Sheraton Sand Key's server allows high-bandwidth users to download
a radio interface to their computer and browse through various jazz melodies created by Tampa-based
artists," Polins said.
CPI also increased the downloading capabilities on the new site. Media and meeting planners now can
access a wide variety of information like images of the Sheraton Sand Key's beaches, accommodations,
banquet and restaurant menus and the layout of meeting rooms.
"More and more groups who conduct meetings at Sheraton Sand Key request images to post on their Web
sites and use in brochures. By offering information for downloading on our Web site, we hope to better
facilitate requests," said General Manager Russ Kimball. "We also wanted to provide immediate information
to the media."
