Sheraton Sand Key Announces Completion of Multi-Million Dollar Renovation

Clearwater Beach, FL (March 20, 2015) – Having recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, Sheraton Sand Key Resort announced the completion of a multi-million dollar, multi-year top to bottom renovation. Russ Kimball, General Manager and his designer of nearly 30 years, Bettie Bragg of Niles Bolton in Atlanta, conceptualized a near-total makeover bringing contemporary design elements to virtually every aspect of a guest’s experience.

Guests entering the hotel will benefit from personalized registration stations and a bright, welcoming lobby.   From floor to ceiling, the hotel common areas reflect a brighter and more expansive feeling.  Lounge areas are both functional and inviting adding to the relaxed resort atmosphere.  And the overall design was built to enhance traffic throughout the lobby and surrounding corridors and restaurant.

All 390 rooms have been updated with fresh designs, new furniture, themed carpet, drapes and artwork along with enhanced guests amenities.  All rooms have new Sheraton Sweet Sleeper™ beds, assuring one of the best night sleeps in any resort hotel anywhere!

The earlier addition of The Link@Sheraton™, a signature feature of Sheraton hotels is complemented by enhancements to the Mainstay Bar and the Island Grill.  Both continue to grow as guest-favored stops during a Florida beach stay. The highly honored Rusty’s Bistro now features a new look with a magnificent wine-wall, while many elements have been upgraded to reflect the award-wining eclectic dining options.

The meeting facilities and the common areas that support special functions are benefiting from the focus on bright, fresh enhancements.  The Sand Key Room, a multi-flexible meeting venue has been totally revamped along with key elements in the expansive ballrooms. Beach access, special pavilion tents and expansive poolside entertaining options continue to make this a true destination meeting environment with many options.

In working with Kimball, Bragg said, “Russ is extremely intelligent and is always at the forefront of what needs to be done to better the resort. He embraces change and has always been a real pleasure to work with.”  Year after year improvements are made—but this total top to bottom renovation reflects a commitment to supporting the reputation of a true, quality facility for the future.

“We want our guests to know that we strive to give them not only the best hospitality, but that we take pride and great care in keeping the resort fresh, fun, and modern. Every decision is made with our guests satisfaction in mind.” Kimball said.  “We are excited about the fresh look to the hotel, and we’re not done yet!” Kimball indulged.
